Dental surgeons’ dharna enters 35th day

JAMMU, Aug 4: Dental Surgeons Association Jammu  and Kashmir (DSA-JK) today continued their dharna for the 35th consecutive day and female dentist hunger strike for the 23rd consecutive day at Amphalla Chowk Jammu against the ill attitude of Government towards them.
The Association lambasted the Government saying that not a single representative from it has come to listen their grievances.
Chairman of the Association Dr. Pawan Singh Jasrotia said that this Government has to fulfill the demands of DSA and due justice is to be given to them and Government has to fulfill its promises.
Dr Singh also said that the piling up of unemployment in dental sector in the State is only due to the negligence and failure of the Government in framing and executing the proper policy in relation to the dental health in the State.
Meanwhile the female dental surgeons hunger strike entered 23rd day, today. Dr.Komal Sharma who is sitting on fast said she will carry this movement forward.
Chairman of DSA- said that the agitation will not be called off and can take even more serious turn if demands are not met at the earliest.
The Association is demanding, complete absorption of unemployed dental youth, recruitment of dental surgeons on every year basis, establish separate directorate for Dental Health in the State.
