Sir,
It is very dismaying that the rural population does not have access to quality medicare. Though the Government spends some amount on healthcare in rural areas, but no thrust is given to dental health. The rural PHCs do not have necessary infrastructure for providing dental health care. As a result, people get trapped in the clutches of quacks, and have to suffer a lot.
The Government should therefore start a separate dental section in each PHC. Creation of such a section will benefit the unemployed dental surgeons in the State. There are a number of doctors who are unemployed even after successive Government made assurances that they would be absorbed. If Government has some financial problem in meeting this problem, it can charge nominal rates from the patients. The scheme would benefit both the patients and doctors.
It is hoped that the new Government and the health department may take this suggestion into consideration for the benefit of poor people in rural areas.
Yours etc…
