Delta Force celebrates 24th Raising Day

JAMMU, Sept 6: Delta Force, involved in anti-insurgency operations and  located in some parts of Northern Command, celebrated its 24th Raising Day, today.
A wreath laying ceremony was organised at headquarter Delta Force,  on the occasion in memory of those who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Raised on Sept 6, 1994 at Nagrota the force has been instrumental in eliminating terrorism from the area and ushering peace in the region. Till date the Force has been honoured with 1380 gallantry awards to include one Ashok Chakra, five Kirti Chakra, forty six Saurya Chakra.
Addressing the troops on the occasion GOC Delta Force, Maj Gen CP Sangra conveyed his felicitations to all veterans and personnel of Delta Force who have contributed to the success of the Force. He further called upon all rank to rededicate themselves to the motto “Dridhta aur Veerta” and to strive for further excellence.
Delta Force continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring peace, security and development in the region through relentless counter terrorist operations. Sadhbhavana endeavours are also being concurrently pursued by this Force to provide opportunities/ assistance  to the locals in remote areas.
