Dell introduces new server powerhouse for enterprise applications

BENGALURU, May 7:  Dell India today announced an expansion of its 13th generation PowerEdge servers including the PowerEdge R930, Dell’s most powerful server specifically designed for the most demanding enterprise applications.
The applications include in-memory databases, customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP). Once the domain of UNIX systems, these enterprise applications are increasingly shifting to x86 platforms for increased innovation, additional capabilities and lower total cost of ownership.    Dell servers are consistently pushing the boundaries when it comes to accelerating application performance, powering workloads in any environment and simplifying systems management so that customers can focus on their business, Ashley Gorakhpurwalla, General Manager and vice president, Dell Server Solutions said.    Manish Gupta, Director, Enterprise Solutions Group, Dell India, said enterprise applications today were pressed for better performance in organizations due to business demands, and data growth as a result of the forces of social, mobility, cloud and Big Data.     The PowerEdge R930 has been developed with the aim of not just enabling customer to handle heavy enterprise application workloads that have arisen of new forces, but also enable them to deploy and configure it in lesser time.
The device has compute at the core with flexibility to have more local storage with Up to 24 drives with optional up to 8 PCIe Express Flash drives, a company release said here. (AGENCIES)
