Delhi-Keylong-Leh bus resumes

KEYLONG, June 4:
The bus service on Delhi-Keylong-Leh route was once again resumed as two of the Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses left for Leh and Delhi from Keylong today, corporation official said.
Regional Manager of HRTC Keylong Depot, Mangal Manyapa said that bus services had been suspended on September 15 last year which now have been retraced from Monday onwards on the entire route.
This service would start from New Delhi at 1545 hrs and arrive at Manali at 1000hrs.
It would arrive at Keylong at 1530hrs and departure for Leh on next day on 0500hrs and arrive at Leh on 1900 hrs on same day. It would also departure for Keylong Bak from Leh on 0500 hrs and arrive at Keylong 0700hrs. It would left for Delhi on 0500 hrs from Keylong.
The official said HRTC would deploy its four vehicles on the route as it would take four days for every vehicles to complete entire route of 1050 km long, extending from Delhi to Leh as Chandigarh is 247 km from Delhi, Keylong-Chandigarh 432 km (Keylong-Manali 115km) and Leh-Keylong about 365 km.
This service would be open upto September 15, 2013 and would close in between Keylong-Leh but remained on the road between Delhi and Keylong.
Keylong depot of HRTC had fleet of about 45 buses in the entire district which remained on the road before it remains open before snowfall between May to November each year.
Most of the district remained snowbound between November to May every year.
Keylong-Leh was being declared off for vehicular traffic from mid of September and Keylong-Manali in mid of November. (UNI)
