NEW DELHI: Delhi High Court today granted interim bail to JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, accused of sedition charges, for the period of six months.
Justice Pratribha Rani granted the bail after hearing detailed arguments from the prosecution and defence.
The High Court asked Mr Kumar to deposit a personal bail bond of Rs 10,000 and a surety of like amount. It asked him to cooperate with the police in investigation of the case.
The JNU students union president was arrested for allegedly raising anti-national slogans inside the campus during an event to mark the third anniversary of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru’s hanging on February 9. (AGENCIES)
