JAMMU, Mar 13: The delegations from Zanskar and Suru Sanku led by MLA Zanskar Sayeed Baqir Razvi met Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Syeed and discussed various problems being faced by them
During the meeting, the delegation from Zanskar submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister highlighting various issues including district status for Zanskar Sub Division, separate representative, recognition of Bhoti language, 2 more councillor for Zanskar in (LAHDC) Kargil, stepped-up construction work on Nimoo-Padum-Darcha Road, construction of airport at Zanskar, special recruitment drive in Ladakh Scout and J&K Police, SBI branch at Padum, procurement of snow-cutter machine for Zanskar, weekly helicopter services from Leh to Zanskar, filling up of all vacant posts in schools, colleges and hospitals, construction of irrigation canal from Tipuk to Rantaksha, remodelling of haftal irrigation canal and construction of L/R from Tankar-Maruchey to Aksho and Shila to Shilaphu.
The delegation from Suru Sanku also submitted memorandum to CM highlighting their demands including Suru hydel project, widening and upgradation of road from Sanku Brako to Ichu in Barsoo Nallah, opening of Degree College in Sankoo, immediate arrangement of plane to airlift stranded passenger of Kargil from Jammu to Kargil, arrangement of HSD oil to restore power supply in Sankoo and snow clearance from the Kargil to Parkachik National Highway.
Chief Minister gave patient hearing and assured the delegations that their demands would be looked seriously and personally for redressal.
Among others present were Punchok Tashi, Nominated Councilor and Tsering Angdus, Councilor Karsha LAHDC Kargil.
