JAMMU, Aug 26: Delegations of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum and Incharge School Education Officers and Lecturers Forum, separately called on Farooq Khan, Advisor to Governor, here today and submitted him memorandum of demands.
The JKTF delegation, led by its State Chairman Ganesh Khajuria drew kind attention of the Advisor towards pathetic conditions of Head Teachers working under erstwhile SSA and who are facing many hardships, financial loss and mental trauma due to the non drawal of their salaries for the last so many months.
Ganesh Khajuria demanded to create the posts of Masters Grade in the upgraded Middle schools as equivalent to existing Govt Middle Schools under Non-Plan/ Plan posts of J&K Govt on the pattern of RMSA ,where the posts of Headmasters and Masters have been created in order to streamline and regularize the salaries of these Masters working in upgraded Middle Schools. The deputation demanded to resolve this issue once for all.
Ganesh Khajuria also sought detachment the teaching faculty from offices and assign all the works to concerned clerical cadres of different offices. He also brought the issue of equal Grades/Pay Scales/ perks and dues in favour of teaching faculty at par with their counterparts of neighboring states.
Farooq Khan gave a patient hearing to the deputation and issued on the spot directions to Director School Education Jammu to redress the salary issue of Head Teachers, once for all. He also assured to resolve all other issues of teaching fraternity being highlighted by JKTF deputation.
The delegation of Incharge School Education Officers and Lecturers Forum, led by Amar Nath Thakur State Chairman (I/C Officers Forum and JKGTF), submitted a memorandum of demands regarding confirmation/regularization of 8000 incharge officers (Joint Director, CEO’s, Principals, ZEOs, Lecturers and Headmasters). The delegation informed that all incharge officers have not been regularized since 2007 till date despite State Administrative Council direction in this regard
Advisor assured the delegation that a meeting would be convened shortly to sort out the long pending issue of regularization.
The delegation also met Director School Education Jammu and requested her to adjust all surplus Masters/Lecturers and newly promoted I/C Lecturers at the earliest in all newly upgraded higher secondary schools.
