SAMBA, Sept 9: A delegation of Beopar Association of Samba today met with District Development Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria and demanded permission for sheds to be built in front of shops.
Few days ago the DC Samba paid a visit to the Samba market and instructed the shopkeepers to keep their goods inside their shops and remove the encroachment from footpaths and also removal of the tin sheds from the shops. In this context today the delegation called on DC which was headed by Tejinder Singh, president of Beopar Mandal Samba.
A large number of shopkeepers of Samba town shut their shops and assembled in DC office complex, Nandani Hill Samba and then met the Deputy Commissioner, Samba. They apprised him their problems and said that, if the shopkeepers do not apply the tin shed in front of their shops then their goods will get spoiled by the Sun. They also said that the shopkeepers will not put their goods on pavements or footpath.
After meeting with DC Samba, president of Beopar Mandal Samba, Tejinder Singh said that, DC Samba said that the shopkeepers should keep their stuff inside the shops and the tin sheds on the shops should not be bigger than three feet, if the tin sheds are bigger than three feet then strict action will be taken against them.
