SRINAGAR, Aug 22: A delegation of the Pahari Speaking People, led by Zaffar Manhas, MLC, met N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan.
The 6-member delegation included Kuldeep Raj Gupta, who has recently taken over as Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People; Mirza Abdul Rashid, ex-Member of Parliament; Nissar Rahi; M. Azam Shah and Vijay Kumar Gupta.
The delegation apprised the Governor about the pressing problems being faced by the Pahari Speaking People and requested the Governor’s intervention for early settlement of the long pending issue of the Pahari Speaking People in the State being given their rightful dues.
Governor informed the delegation about the decisions taken in regard to this matter by the erstwhile Government and urged them to raise it afresh with the present Government.
