JAMMU, Jan 17: A delegation of Jat Biradari and border communities led by Ch Manmohan Singh, President AIJMS met Jeet Lal Gupta, Chairman of State Commission for Backward Classes.
The delegation discussed the issues of border and its adjacent areas with Gupta.
The deputation said that due to frequent disturbances on the border because of ceasefire violations and counter action, the border people lose their land and harvest and this worsens their economic condition and their children have not much access to schools.
The delegation demanded reservation for the border people in jobs and educational institutions.
Ch Manmohan Singh informed the Chairman that Prime Minister Modi believes in equality among all sections of society and people.
After listening to the delegation, Chairman Jeet Lal Gupta said that they will try to come up with some satisfactory answer to the demands.
