LEH, Aug 30: A delegation of Thiksay Culture and Welfare Society led by Councilor Thiksay Tundup Gytso met Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Leh Gyal P Wangyal here today.
The delegation apprised Wangyal about the awareness drive organized in Thiksay block from August 20-23 under the banner of ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ at villages Thiksay, Shey, Nang and Rambirpur.
It also shared the detail plan with LAHDC for launching of a resource project in Thiksay block for garbage management in line with German technology.
The delegation said that people of Thiksay are keen to support the project as the place being a famous tourist center bisected by Manali national highway is suffering garbage problem since years.
CEC Gyal P. Wangyal assured the delegation to make such project a success.
He also said that Hill Council Leh will always welcome volunteers and NGOs for support.
Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh Tsering Sandup, Executive Councilor for Agriculture Phuntsog Stanzin, Executive Councilor for Minorities Mumtaz Hussain and others were also present on the occasion.
