JAMMU, Oct 4: A joint delegation of JKESTW Society, Trikuta Nagar Welfare Association and Nations Development Association called on Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Incharge Finance, J&K and raised the issue of pensioners and family pensioners regarding Golden Cards under Sehat Scheme of J&K.
Demanding benefits as per rule for those who attain the age of 80 years, JKESTW Society president, Vijay Sharma (Retired DC State Taxes) along with R.K Mottoo (Retired SE), Association secretary quoted Assam High Court decision upheld by Supreme Court that increased pension and family pension benefits normally accrue at the age of 80+ be given soon the pensioners enters day 1 of the 80th year of life.
Chief Advisor of JKESTW Society, B.S Mastana (Retired DC Excise) said that pensioners including all those senior citizens of J&K whose thumb and eyes impressions are not possible and who are experiencing lot of difficulties in getting Golden Cards be considered on the basis of PPO, Ration Card etc and if one card is made for a family of five it will suffice all the members of family as medical claim cover per family is Rs. 5 lakh only.
After listening to the delegation, the ACS issued orders to officers concerned for expediting the issues in consultation with law department and agencies concerned.
