SRINAGAR: A delegation of Ladakh Buddhist Association, Zanskar, met Governor Satya Pal Malik and urged him to provide adequate police protection to the Buddhist monasteries particularly those situated in the remote region of Zanskar.
They also urged for shifting of the Holy Book-‘TRIPITAKAS’ from the Ranbir Library in Jammu to Library in Zanskar, an official spokesperson said. He said a delegation of Ladakh Buddhist Association, Zanskar, led by its president Tsewabg Chostar met the Governor at the Raj Bhavan here on Sunday.
“The delegation also requested for providing Kail wood and Budloo at subsidized rates for construction of Gonpa Monastery at Photang in Zanskar; accommodation at Jammu for office of the LBA and submitted an application on behalf of inhabitants of village Rangdum to bring their village under the jurisdiction of Zanskar Tehsil,” he said.
