JAMMU, Feb 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has extended a final opportunity to the defaulting employees to submit their Annual Property Returns (APRs) between February 13 and 27, 2024.
A notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) said that despite earlier advisories issued on December 21, 2023, and subsequent notifications, many employees have failed to comply with the January 31, 2024 deadline for filing property returns on the PRS portal.
It said that this lapse has serious repercussions, as outlined by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets Act and Rules, and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
“Defaulters risk facing punitive actions and criminal charges, along with denial of vigilance clearance,” read the GAD notification.
Thus, the General Administration Department has taken a serious note of this issue and decided to grant a final window for submission.
After February 27, 2024, no further extensions will be granted, and defaulters will face the aforementioned consequences, said the GAD notification.
During this grace period, the notification said, the defaulting employees are required to submit their property returns online through the Property Return System (PRS Portal).
“Additionally, those who registered on the portal but failed to submit their returns must rectify their oversight. Unregistered employees are instructed to register on the portal and submit their returns within the stipulated timeframe,” it said.
In case of issues related to OTP, employees are advised to update their contact information on the CPIS portal. For other technical support or concerns, they can reach out to support-prs@jk.gov.in for prompt assistance.
Controlling Officers and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) are tasked with ensuring compliance within their respective establishments. Administrative Departments have also been directed to monitor progress closely in this matter.
