Decline in COVID cases, deaths in Kashmir; 1433 test +ve, 9 die

Srinagar, May 30: The COVID-19 cases and deaths in Kashmir declined today with 1433 people testing positive while nine succumbed to the virus taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally of death toll to 3870.
Those who tested positive include 350 from Srinagar, Baramulla 164, Budgam 170, Pulwama 140, Kupwara 77, Anantnag 154, Bandipora 67, Ganderbal 190, Kulgam 96 and Shopian 25.
With fresh cases, Srinagar has now 64910 positive cases with 4754 active, 59390 recovered, 766 deaths; Baramulla has 21225 positive cases with 2757 active Positive, 18210 recovered, 258 deaths; Budgam reported 20115positive cases with 2463 active cases, 17475 recovered, 177 deaths; Pulwama has 12979 positive cases with2271 active, 10542 recovered and 166 deaths; Kupwara has 11856 positive cases, 1885 active, 9829 recoveries, 142 deaths; Anantnag district has 14465 positive cases with 3921 active, 10383 recovered, 161 deaths; Bandipora has 8402 positive cases, with 977 active and 7335 recoveries, 90 deaths; Ganderbal has 8698 positive cases with 1333 active, 7297 recoveries and 68 deaths; Kulgam has 9812 positive cases with 1797 active, 7916 recoveries and 99 deaths while as Shopian has 5276 positive cases, 1162 active cases, 4059 recoveries and 55 deaths.
In J&K out of 288940 cases, 37677 are active, 247393 have recovered and 3870 have died; including 1982 in Kashmir division.
Moreover, 3805 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 2351 from Kashmir Division.
Meantime, police enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the Coronavirus and to implement the Covid-19 guidelines/ SOPs/ restrictions strictly throughout the Valley.
Police have arrested 19 persons, lodged eight FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of Rs 1,10,820 from 919 people for violating the guidelines/rules throughout Kashmir.
Police said that the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by Government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.
“Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir valley to strengthen the safety measures”,police said.
