Apropos “Death of Kashmiryat, Dogra Resurgance” by Mr. Vijay Gupta dated 23-10-2016 has come as a breeze of fresh air. History rewound subtly highlighting the facts pertaining to J&K state and makes this article a class apart. One has been hearing about Kashmiryat day in & day out from those who have experienced no agony in the vale of Kashmir. On the other hand those who have suffered in the valley know very well that the so called Kashmiryat was finally laid to rest in January, 1990. All kudos to Mr. Gupta for this extraordinary article.

Sir,
Excellent article, I must say. All the history of J&K, that is available in the market is from the point of view of Kashmiris, and it is politically as well as socially biased against the Dogra rulers. Maharajas and the ruling Dogra elite would have written a more authoritative account of the times- 1840 to 1948.

Sir,
Very nice and heart touching article ‘Death of Kashmiriyat, Dogra resurgence’ based on historical facts. Very true. Kashmiriyat died and was buried in 1990 only during the exile of Kashmiri Pandit’s, and after that it’s radical Islam that is nutured by people and politicians in Kashmir. Politicians keep Kashmiriyat alive only in words for their political interests.
