SRINAGAR: Minister of State (MoS) for Defence Subhash Bhamre has reviewed the overall security situation in Kashmir valley and asked different security agencies to deal firmly with all elements inimical to national interests.
Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia today said that Dr Bhamre, who was in Srinagar on a two-day visit from yesterday, reviewed the overall security situation in the Valley.
“The MoS Defence was briefed by Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen JS Sandhu on the prevailing situation in the Valley. He was also briefed on the close coordination amongst all the Government agencies towards bringing back normalcy in the region,” the spokesperson said.
During the visit, the minister along with Lt Gen Sandhu visited the forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) and also the hinterland, where he interacted with the soldiers and was briefed on the prevailing security situation.
Col Kalia said Dr Bhamre appreciated the various measures instituted to strengthen the security posture and the good job being done by all the security forces.
“The MoS Defence urged all to continue the strict vigil and deal firmly with all elements inimical to national interests. Dr Bhamre departed for Delhi today, after completing his visit,” he said. (AGENCIES)
