JAMMU, May 13: Two deaf and dumb girl students of J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra (SKK) Jammu run School for Speech and Hearing Handicap have secured distinction with 81 per cent marks in the Matriculation examination.
A handout stated that both Divyang girls, Tania and Shreshta have secured 405 marks out of 500.
Other four deaf and dumb students including one girl got B2 grade (1st Div) securing 63 to 68 percent marks. The School has again registered cent percent result in matriculation.
In Higher Secondary and Middle class examinations of the J&K Board of Secondary Education declared earlier, the School has registered cent per cent result.
In Higher Secondary examination, three deaf & dumb students of the School have got 1st Divisions. In Middle class Examination two students have secured distinction with 84 per cent marks.
This is the only Deaf and Dumb School in the State where trained teachers are imparting education to hearing and speech impaired students in specialized sign language.
The President of J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra and members of the Executive Committee complimented the students, the Principal and teaching faculty for continuously achieving cent per cent results during the last three years.
