Dead body of old man found at Kha village

RAJOURI, Dec 19: The dead body of an elderly man, hailing from Kalakote was found  lying under mysterious circumstances near Kha village in Kandi last night.
Official sources said that body of 65 year-old man, lying under suspicious circumstances near Kha village, was noticed by a boy who informed other people of the area. Then they informed police. The police party rushed to the spot and found the body lying at the bank of a nallah.
The police took possession of the body and searched its pocket and found an Aadhar card. He was later identified as Janak Singh, son of Bhagat Ram, resident of village Dangiyot, Kakalot. The police shifted the body to GMC Rajouri and informed his family.
SHO Rajouri Inspector Aijaz Ahmed Wani said that preliminary investigation revealed that the old man had gone to meet his daughter at her in-laws’ house at Kha village. It is being believed that old man might have fell down from the hill and died. But the police has started investigation after registration of a case.
After conducting post-mortem and completing other legal formalities, the police handed over the body to the family today.
