JAMMU, Apr 29: The dead body of a man was found today from a canal in Cantt area of Satwari in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a partially rotten male body was spotted this morning by some Army personnel in a canal passing through Cantt area.
He said that on getting information from the Army, a police team reached the spot and shifted the dead body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was later identified as Sanjeev Dutta (50) son of Pardeep Dutta, a resident of Muthi (Roop Nagar).
“A case in this connection was registered at police station Satwari and proceedings initiated under 174 CrPC”, the spokesman added.
