JAMMU, Feb 16: A deputation of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association, (DEA) Jammu led by Upinder Singh, president, All J&K Diploma Engineers Association, Jammu met Sandeep Nayak, Principal Secretary PDD in presence of Agar Ali Majaz, Development Commissioner Power at his office chamber today.
The deputation submitted a memorandum to Principal Secretary PDD and held threadbare discussion on the issues of Diploma Engineer cadre that included release of 65 left over post of Junior Engineer to Assistant Engineer (under career progression) on the analogy of PHE/I&FC and PWD (R&B Civil/Mechanical), maintenance of cadre strength at every level i.e. Junior Engineer to Assistant Executive Engineer to Executive Engineer as there is heavy shortfall at the level of Assistant Executive Engineer and Executive Engineer in PDD (Electrical) in Diploma cadre, release of two and a half days pay in being essential service to Engineers in PDD who are working round the clock in odd conditions and issue of re-structuring in PDD.
The Principal Secretary PDD gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that the issues of Diploma Engineers will be considered for its early redressal.
Others who accompanied the deputation included Anil Gupta, vice Chairman, Sanjay Sharma, Executive member PDD and Jadish Singh Rather (member advisory panel).
