DDC visits training camp under BADP

KATHUA, Apr 12: District Development Commissioner Ramesh Kumar today visited the camp at Marheen set up for providing training to the youth of border areas for entry into various belt force.
The district administration has started the Border Youth Upliftment Programme (BYUP)   under skill development component of BADP to provide training on physical and written aspect of the recruitments in police and other armed forces.
During the  75 days training which commenced on February 15, 2017 about  100  youth from Hiranagar and Marheen border blocks are undergoing training in physical and academic standards required for recruitment in Army, Police and Paramilitary forces.
Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar complimented all the youth who were recently selected in various recruitment rallies of JKP and other paramilitary forces. It is pertinent to mention that these youths were trained in Border Youth upliftment  program under the expert guidance of retired army personnel who are entrusted with the task of providing training to these border youths.
The Deputy Commissioner also called upon the course coordinator to create Whatsapp group for providing regular updates of recruitment dates and venues to the aspirants so that they can avail maximum attempts of recruitment. Besides he also called for weekly assessment of physical and written skills.
Deputy Commissioner further said that the Border Youth Upliftment Program for youth of border area is aimed at skill enhancement. He said such programme help in channelizing the energies of youth and keeps them away from the drug menace.
DC also distributed track suits and shoes among the aspirants.
