DDC visits snow affected areas, takes stock of people grievances

POONCH, Jan 25: To take stock of situation arisen due to massive snowfall, DDC Ajeet Kumar Sahu along with SP Shamsheer Hussain Chaudhary visited Sawjiyan, Khet, Bendar, Mandi and other areas enroute.
While interacting with DDC at various places, people demanded atta in place of wheat as all the watermills are closed due to freezing of water. They demanded additional quota of ration and kerosene oil. As power supply to these areas has not been restored and water supply is also badly affected due to non-availability of power and freezing of water pipes, people demanded more hand pumps.
Two special medical teams of doctors comprising of Dr Pandita, Dr Rahul and Dr Ali Mohd were deputed for check-up of ailing patients and free medicines were also provided to nearly 400 persons of Swajiyan and 45 in Bedar, Chamber and Khet.
Meanwhile, on the direction of DDC, ration and kerosene oil was dispatched to various areas for distribution among the villagers.
