KISHTWAR, Jan 7: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Angrez Singh Rana today visited Marwah area and took a first hand appraisal of availability of essential commodities.
He was accompanied with SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SDM Marwah Kaiser Bhavani and other district and sectoral officers.
He also inspected functioning of Government offices as complaints regarding absenteeism were received from different quarters.
Taking serious note of the same, DDC immediately withheld the salaries of erring District Officers.
DDC after observing the shambled and unhygienic condition of PHC Marwah placed BMO Marwah Anil Kumar under suspension with immediate effect and appointed ADDC Kishtwar Imam Din as an enquiry officer for conducting discreet enquiry into the alleged irregularities under Rogi Kalyan Scheme and pathetic conditions of PHC Marwah.
On the occasion, people demanded clearance of pending payments under MGNREGA since 2016, revoking of hike in airfare, availability of doctors and paramedical staff in Marwah. He assured the locals that their genuine demands and issues will be redressed on priority.
He directed concerned officers to withhold the salaries of those officials who are not regularly attending their duties and asked them to furnish the list of such erring staff so that their case be furnished and recommended to Government under dead wood.
The public also demanded for early start of snow clearance work from Yourdoo to Teller and Hyna to Bhata. They also demanded for deployment of Gang coolies for clearance of bridal track from Dachhan to Marwah and Marwah to Warwan wherein on spot directions were issued by the DDC to the concerned officers for necessary action.
It was also urged that veterinary doctors needs to be deputed for checking the spread of diseases in the livestock animals of the area and accordingly on spot instructions were issued by DDC.
