REASI, May 22: District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar, today visited far-flung areas of Arnas and Thuroo to take stock of public grievances besides assessing status of ongoing development works in these areas.
SDM Dharmari Naresh Kumar, Superintendent Engineer N.D. Khwaja, Tehsildar Arnas Mohammad Hussain, engineers of various wings besides other concerned officers accompanied the DDC.
DDC inspected ongoing work of Arnas-Hunder road being constructed under PMGSY and asked the officers for its completion in fixed timeline.
The people of village Hunder raised the issues of water supply for which instructions were passed to the concerned for ensuring adequate supply to the villagers.
The DDC impressed upon people to construct their own toilets and do not go outside in open field so that menace of open defecation can be contained in these far-flung areas. He urged upon them to cooperate in making rural areas ODF as was done in block Reasi which was recently declared ODF.
SDM Dharmari was instructed to visit all ongoing roads of tehsil Arnas and Thuroo and resolve certain issues hindering execution of these works, so that development works do not suffer on this account.
Later, the DDC visited village Matlote where he inspected 5 Km road recently blacktopped by PWD. He asked the engineers for early blacktopping of another 2 km Badanoo-Sulkh road in the same village.
The DDC visited Daman and issued instructions to the department for early restoration of Daman-Chan Kharoli road. For Jalao-Kanthi suspension bridge, the engineers were asked to visit the site to resolve the issue so that its work gets started at an earliest.
At Arnas, DDC convened meeting of officers of various departments and passed instruction for hassle free public delivery system besides resolving multifaceted grievances of locals.
The DDC also inspected blacktopping of Arnas bazaar road and appreciated the department for commendable job in the rural areas.
To the issue of macadamization on the stretch from Kanthan to Dharmari of Reasi-Mahore main road, GREF authorities were asked to pacify the work so that local people enjoy comfortable transport facility.
