DDC reviews progress on Devika project

UDHAMPUR, Nov 13: The progress on the execution of pollution abatement project of river Devika and Tawi under National River Conservation Plan (NRCP) was today reviewed by District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla.
Executing agencies informed that 5.5km sewage pipe has been laid so far and stone masonry work around Shiva statue is going on while all issues pertaining to execution of different works stand resolved.
The DDC stressed on coordination between Municipal Council and UEED and asked them to gear up the process of execution of work within time frame. He asked the concerned to speed up the pace of work and execute works concurrently on all spots. The PMC was directed to submit all the pending drawing by November 20. DDC further asked the contractors to depute a senior manager at the site to monitor the daily work.
The concerned were asked to speed up restoration work by pressing in more men and machinery for its early completion. The DDC asked the concerned authorities to display sign boards with project blue prints, while executing agencies were asked to submit working plan in advance.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Rajeev Bhushan, Executive Engineer UEED, Xen PHE, Taj Chowdhary, Tehsildar, Mohit Gupta, CEO Municipality, Santosh Kotwal, and other officers of different departments, engineers and contractors of executing agencies.
