DDC Rajouri reviews performance of Jal Shakti Deptt

RAJOURI, Feb 27: District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today reviewed the financial and physical achievements of the schemes being implemented by the Jal Shakti Department in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Jal Shakti, SR Shukla; Dy.DEO, Parveen Akhter; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; ACD,Sushil Khajuria; DSCO, Rashid Manhas; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn Jal Shakti Nowshera, HS Bahal; ExEn Jal Shakti Mechanical; Bhupinder Singh; ExEn I&FC Rajouri, Sageer Malik and ExEn I&FC Nowshera, Hari Bushan.
At the outset, the SE Jal Shakti informed the meeting that work on 24 water Supply Schemes and 11 languishing projects of Irrigation and Flood Control Department have been completed.
Giving further details, he informed that out of 58 NRDWP schemes, the work on 8 is complete in all respects and rest are at different phases of execution. Similarly under Languishing scheme, out of 58 schemes, the work on 14 is complete.
While giving details of the target achieved under BADP, he said against 3 schemes, 1 is complete.
Similarly, the DDC also took a detailed stock of the physical and financial progress under Capex budget DP and State Capex.
Regarding the languishing projects being executed by the I&FC Department, the concerned Executive Engineer informed that out of 13 schemes, the work on 11 is complete.
The DDC asked the concerned officers to complete the work on all schemes by the end of March this year.
About ANS irrigation Canal, it was informed that the project has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 53 crore and an expenditure of Rs 13 crore has been incurred till date. It was further informed that a tunnel of 1386 meters was to be constructed out of which 310 meters stands constructed. However, the work on the project is currently held up due to lack of funds and it will be resumed once the funds are available.
The DDC asked the concerned officers to submit the list of the schemes which would be completed by the end of March this year. He also directed them to ensure the timely utilisation of the funds sanctioned for developmental works and ensure regular inspection.
