DDC polls will change course of development: Kavinder

JAMMU, Dec 6: The maiden District Development Council (DDC) polls in the Union Territory will change the course of development in rural J&K as these will ensure completion of three-tier Panchayati Raj and handing over power to people to be used in the best interest of one and all.
This was stated by Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister while addressing series of meetings at BhureChak, Phallian Mandaal; Chacha Chowk, Narwal Bala; Karyani Talab, Narwal Bala; Nala Madrasa, Bathindi and Dungiya, Bhathindi in connection with DDC polls and sought support for BJP candidates.
The senior BJP leader urged the people to vote and support BJP in the DDC polls with no apprehensions in their minds as the party has brought in marvelous changes in the polity of the country always keeping the interests of common man on top.
Meanwhile, the former Deputy Chief Minister paid tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary which is also called Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
While paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar, Gupta said that “Dr Ambedkar gave a future-oriented and inclusive Constitution to the country and paved the way for progress, prosperity and equality in the country. Following the footsteps of Babasaheb, Modi Government is working with dedication for the welfare of the section that remained deprived for decades.”
“Dr Ambedkar was totally against the incorporation of Article 370 in the Indian Constitution and he opposed it tooth and nail. He did not favour grant of any special status to Jammu & Kashmir. Even after decades Dr Ambedkar remains one of the unparalleled leaders of masses across the country,” Kavinder said.
“The nation will remain indebted to Babasaheb who played important role in showing the way of social harmony and social reform in the country,” Gupta said.
Among others who were present included Manohar Lal Menia, district president BJP, Anusuchit Jaati Morcha, Subhash Chander, Om Parkash, Sanjay Kumar and Narinder Digra.
