SRINAGAR, June 14: District Development Commiss-ioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir assessed and reviewed the status of different ongoing development projects in Lolab valley.
DDC visited Ghose, Khumriyal, Shumriyal, Kanthipora, Gagal, Badibera, Lalpora Bataora, Rangwar, Anderbugh, Takipora, Dorach Wani and Sogam areas of Lolab constituency and reviewed the status of different ongoing development projects.
The concerned Sectoral officers and head of the institutions briefed the DDC about the progress of various ongoing development projects under execution in different parts of Lolab valley. The major development projects inspected by the DDC include Water Supply Scheme Ghose, Protection Bund on Lolab Nallah at Ghose, Khumriyal bridge, Shumriyal Bridge, newly sanctioned Khumriyal-Rung road, Kanth-pora Bridge, Gangubh-Chandigam road, Rangwar water storage tank, Wani Dorach-Wani water storage tank, SDH Sogam, Government Degree College Sogam and High School Gagal.
Executive Engineer R&B Division Kupwara was instructed to expedite the pace of work on Khumriyal bridge by deploying additional resources. DDC also asked for immediate take up the construction work of the Khumriyal-Rung road. While inspecting the Ganbough-Chandigam road being constructed under PMGSY, it was instructed to make serious efforts for completion of the said road before the start of winter season.
The Officers of JKPCC were advised to gear up work on Kanthpora bridge for ensuring its completion during the current year. He also directed the JKPCC for completion of SDH Sogam and Government Degree College Sogam by September 15.
DDC directed the executing agencies to complete projects in stipulated time frame so that general public would be able to avail the benefits of these projects.
DDC also interacted with the public at various locations and gave on spot directions for redressal of their grievances. DDC also inspected various educational institutions at Kanthpora, Maidanpora, Gagal, Lalpora and Darpora.
