DDC inspects development works

JAMMU, Jan 21: District Development Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma today conducted extensive tour of village Jaswan in Marh block and inspected various development works undertaken which include MGNREGA, IAY, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan(NBA) and other schemes.
The DDC was accompanied by Block Development Officer Marh M. L. Tasir, DPO Jammu T. S. Sohrawardy, field staff, Sarpanchs, Panchs, other senior officers of various departments.
DDC inspected various Individual House Hold Latrines (IHHL) which were constructed under Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC)/NBA and also interacted with the local villagers to enquire about the working of TSC units. He also inspected houses constructed under IAY scheme.
Mr. Verma visited the sites where check dam has to be constructed and directed the BDO Marh to initiate the construction work of check dams, adding that after the construction of the same, the irrigation supply to the farmers would be better and helpful for local farmers to increase their agriculture production.
The DDC also enquired about the status of Mid Day Meal scheme in various primary schools of the area and directed the concerned officers for proper functioning of Mid Day Meal scheme.
DDC also directed the field staff to start organic farming as it will be beneficial for farmers.
