SAMBA, Feb 10: District Development Commissioner Samba today inaugurated programme for viewing the “Krishi Vasant 2014” (National Agriculture fair) being held at Nagpur from 9 to 13, February, 2014 at NIC Centre Samba through web casting. The programme was attended by 150 farmers from various parts of the district.
It was informed that farmers from different parts of the district will be attending the programme on all the days in two shifts at the NIC Center Samba.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that agriculture being the backbone of the nation has the vast scope of advancement and transformation of the nation. He advised the farmers to adopt the various agriculture activities like Apiculture, Mushroom cultivation, Vegetable cultivation, Hybrid Cereal & Vegetable cultivation, Horticultural Crops, Dairying, and other allied sectors for sustainable farming system approach in their farms. He also asked the farmers to attend the programme with interest and gather the knowledge through the webcast as well as interaction with the scientists at the NIC centre and disseminate the same in the field of others.
DDC Samba appreciated the efforts of Department of Agriculture Samba and NIC centre for conducting the programme in a coordinated manner.
Others present on the occasion were Chief Horticulture Samba, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Informatics Officer, Agriculture Extension officers/Jr Agriculture Extension Officers/ReZ.
