DDC holds public grievances redressal camp

KATHUA, Aug 19: District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar today conducted extensive tour of Basohli tehsil and held public grievance redressal camp at Panchyat Ghar Nagrota (Preta).
During the camp, a deputation of displaced people of areas around Ranjeet Sagar Dam projected their demands like clearance of pending land compensation cases, verification of revenue records, employment for their wards and improvement of basic amenities viz drinking water, electricity and provision of road connectivity in their areas.
The DDC gave a patient hearing and assured the people that their genuine demands would be looked into and taken up with the dam authorities.
He also gave on spot directions to the concerned officers to take the steps for redressal of demands and grievances of the people. He directed Collector Thein Dam to speed up the compensation cases so that the same are forwarded to the concerned authorities for further action.
Later, DDC inspected the SDM office Basohli. He directed SDM Basohli Dharmendra Sharma to take up the issue of repair of the main road with NHPC authorities.
The DDC asked the SDM to personally monitor the ongoing development projects in the tehsil and ensure quality of work and timely completion of the same. He also called for showing zero tolerance to encroachments on State and Kahcharie land.
