KATHUA, Aug 26: District Development Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary today conducted his maiden tour of Tehsil Billawar after assuming the charge of Deputy Commissioner Kathua.
During his whirlwind tour of Billawar Tehsil, the DDC held introductory meeting with Tehsil level officers of line and works departments at conference hall of Government Degree College Billawar.
ADDC Narinder Singh Bali, SDM Billawar R.S Charak, Tehsildar, XEn PWD, ZEO, Dy CEO, DEPO, CDPO, CSWO, DFO, BVO, CAO, CHO, AEEs of PWD, PHE and PDD Billawar were among the present on the occasion.
The DDC, while interacting with officers, asked them to work with cooperation, dedication and good leadership skills to win the faith of the people. He called upon them to follow administrative ethics and course of proper documentation while executing the works. He asked for timely response to the directions of higher ups to save the precious time of people as well as administration.
He laid stress on education, rural development and social welfare departments to involve all the stakeholders while planning & executing the schemes and programmes.
The DDC asked the Block Development Officers to visit their respective areas, organize awareness camps and public meetings to redress the public grievances as well as to get first hand feedback about the problems of the people. He exhorted upon all the officers to gear up their efforts for maximum electoral participation in the coming assembly elections.
The DDC also held meeting with panchs and sarpanchs of block Billawar and Lohai Malhar.
SDM, Tehsildars and Block Development Officers attended the meeting.
The DDC while addressing the panchs and sarpanchs sought their much needed cooperation to get desired results in shape of development. He said every panchayat must formulate a development plan so that same could be taken up in the board meetings for approval.
He disclosed that Gram Rozgar Sewak will be facilitated with tablets very shortly, adding that the process of recruitment of vacant Gram Rozgar Sewak will be completed at an earliest. He said district administration will work all out to make Kathua a model district in the state.
Later, the DDC convened a meeting with booth level officers to take stock of the preparations with regard to upcoming elections.
The DDC stressed upon the BLOs to go door to door for educating voters and work to ensure hundred percent electoral participation in their respective areas. He said the administration will give reward to best performing BLO. He said a three member core committee of BLOs will be constituted to redress their issues.
Dr Shaid Iqbal Chaudhary also visited sub district hospital Billawar and took stock of the arrangements and facilities. He also sought information related to the staff strength in the hospital.
The DDC also took part in the Plantation drive held at GDC Billawar where, he planted saplings of various trees.
