UDHAMPUR, Feb 27: The District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal flagged off a batch of members of Watershed Committees for five-days exposure visit and training to Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Mohali.
The field-cum-exposure visit was organized by State Level Nodal Agency for IWMP and Project Manager, IWMP Udhampur under capacity building programme of IWMP.
In the exposure visit, the watershed committee members of District Udhampur and Ramban will visit Pathankote, Hoshiarpur and Mohali in Punjab in order to learn and gain the new methodologies, tools and techniques for further improvement of the area under Integrated Watershed Management programme (IWMP).
The DDC appreciated the efforts of IWMP and asked the Project Manager, IWMP Udhampur to arrange more such programmes in future for the effective capacity building of all stakeholders under IWMP scheme.
Earlier, Project Manager, IWMP Udhampur, Dr. Sunil Sharma briefed the Watershed Committee members about the importance of such programme.
Among others Joint Director, (P&S), Rakesh Jamwal, Assistant Director, Planning DPAP/IWMP, District Level Technical Expert and others were also present on the occasion.
