REASI, Dec 4: Union Minister and BJP leader, Anurag Thakur today said the people do not believe in the “divisive politics” propagated by the ‘Gupkar Alliance’ and other opposition parties.
While addressing two rallies in Panasa and Talwara area of Reasi DDC constituency, he said the people of region believe in the power of ballot “and I know they will use their power rightly. The people are agitated with the petty politics of the Gupkar Alliance. They do not believe in the divisive politics propagated by it,” Thakur added. He said J&K has greatly been benefited from the infrastructure and developmental projects initiated under the BJP Government at the Centre “No stone will be left unturned to transform this region into a progressive and peaceful place for citizens and investors. The measures taken by the Modi Government are being supported by the common man and that is why they are showing their support for the BJP,. “The era of darkness under the two families has come to an end and the era of prosperity and progress has begun’’, he added.
“Thakur said that the people have seen the “real face of the Gupkaris who are neck-deep in the Roshni land scam”. “The land grabbers have been exposed and their hollow promises rejected. The DDC elections will pave the way for a period of trust and transformation in J&K,” Thakur said. ‘Gupkar Alliance’ or People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is an amalgam of several parties, including the NC and the PDP, seeking the restoration of the special status of the erstwhile State.
He further claimed that removal of “irrelevant” Articles 370 and 35-A from J&K is in the interest of the people. The Gupkar Alliance is showing false dreams of its (Article 370) return only to cheat J&K people. “Modi Government has abrogated Articles 370 and 35-A which have been a curse in the development of J&K over the years and the abrogation has ensured the momentum for development on the UT,” he maintained. He further claimed that due to Articles 370 and 35-A J&K, citizens for years were deprived of facilities they were entitled to. “It is our collective responsibility that in these DDC elections, for the prosperity, progress and peace of the State, we make the BJP win with an overwhelming majority and reject others, he added’’.
While replying to a question on farmers’ agitation, he said that Modi Government is working for the farmers and is trying to remove doubts of farmers.
Arvind Gupta, district Prabhari Reasi, Sheel Magotra district president, Reasi, Kuldeep Dubey, Raman Sharma, DDC candidate, Abdul Rashid and other local leaders were also present.
