DDC Chairperson seeks Tribal varsity, college for Poonch

JAMMU, June 28: Tazeem Akhter, Chairperson district Poonch met Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta in Srinagar and apprised him about various languishing and on going developmental projects in Poonch.
She raised various issues and put forth demands like sanctioning of Trauma Hospital in Poonch, free flow of vehicular movement on Mughal road, completetion of Loran Tangmarg road,construction of GDC Mandi, sanctioning of new women degree college and Tribal University in Poonch.
She also urged Dr. Mehta to approve adequate staff in District Hospital Poonch.
She discussed about the upgradation of health and education sectors.
To explore tourism destinations including religious pilgrimage on tourist map was also discussed.
Conversion of Gujjar and pahari Hostels in Residential model Hostels were also important points that were raised by the DDC Chairperson.
After meeting with Chief Secretary, Tazeem Akhter expressed satisfaction and said that, meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere and she is very hopeful that, due consideration would surely be given as assured by the Chief Secretary as all the matters are related to public and are welfare oriented in nature.
She also appealed to the public to strengthen this Panchayat Raj institution so that, grass root democracy can be further strengthened.
