DDC Chairperson Rajouri inspects health care facilities in Kalakote

RAJOURI, June 2: District Development Council (DDC) chairperson Rajouri, Naseem Liaqat (Adv) today conducted an extensive tour of Kalakote area, to take stock of Covid containment measures and visited NTPHC Saranu, PHC Sialsui, Health and Welness Center Bhatera, PHC Panjah, CHC Kalakote, PHC Moughla and CHC Taryath.
During the visit, the DDC Chairman took a detailed review of the infrastructure available in the healthcare facilities for dealing with Coronavirus patients. He asked the concerned authorities to ensure proper care of COVID-19 positive patients for their early recovery and stressed upon the Health department to evolve an effective strategy for early detection of COVID cases to control the spread of this dreaded virus.
He asked the concerned to ensure strict adherence to all preventive protocols and SOPs regarding the virus while performing their duties to ensure there as well as safety of others. He directed the Health officials for making the dedicated covid care centre in CHC Kalakote functional.
At NTPHC Saranu, Chairman was informed that 2840 persons have been vaccinated and 95% in the 45+ age group covered. At PHC Sialsui, it was demanded that vacancies of doctors and paramdical staff be filled and construction work on the building be started. Further, officials at the PHC informed the chairman that vaccine for 45+ age group is not available.
It was further informed that the Solar power bank is lying defunct and needs minor repairing but the executing agency hasn’t repaired the same. Chairman DDC assured to take up the matter with the Health Services Jammu.
At CHC Kalakote, chairman was apprised that the center cater to over 1,46,800 souls spread over 89 villages and 34 feeding sub centers falls under the CHC. Chairman visited NHM BPMU section, establishment section, dental OPD, and dedicated covid care center. He was informed that a vacancy of ventilator operator/anesthatist is lying vacant and demanded that it should be filled up. At PHC Moughla, it was submitted that a post of doctor is lying vacant and paramedical staff deputed at the centers had been attached to Rajouri due to which the general public is suffering.
At CHC Taryath, chairman was apprised that posts of doctor and paramedical staff is lying vacant and demanded that all the substantially sanctioned posts be filled. He also underlines the need for creating mass awareness in connection with the vaccination drive and directed the concerned health authorities for the hundred per cent vaccination of the targeted groups.
