DDC Chairman holds Janta Darbar in Bhalwal

JAMMU, July 6: DDC Chairman Jammu Bharat Bhushan Bodhi today asserted that the Government is committed to provide 24×7 electricity and regular water supply and places which are currently facing dearth will soon get the uninterrupted supply of these entities.
Bharat Bhushan assured this while addressing a Janta Darbar here at Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Bhalwal. Avny Lavasa, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, SDM North Udham Dass Sharma, BDC Chairman Bhalwal, Kuldeep Raj; Tehsildar, HoDs of several Government departments like Social Welfare, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, PHE, JPDCL, PWD and PRI members were present in the meeting.
As the people living in the vicinity raised the issues of erratic power and dearth of potable water supply, the DDC Chairman directed the officials of Jal Shakti Department to address water shortage on priority basis claiming that the Centre has allocated sufficient funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission to provide tap water to every household without any discrimination.
He also directed the officials of JPDCL to address the power outage issue and provide uninterrupted power supply to the people of Bhalwal Block which are presently confronting the issue of power outage. He said that the Modi Government at the Centre is keen to provide the people of J&K all the basic facilities and services without any disruption and the aim of conducting such public meetings is to plug in gaps between the common masses and the Government.
Principal HSS Bhalwal urged the DDC Chairman for constructing a speed breaker on both sides of School premises due to heavy traffic on Bhalwal Road and establishment of a police post near the School to tighten noose around anti-social elements.
Bharat Bhushan assured to take up the matter with the concerned authority to set-up a police post in the vicinity of the school and also contacted XEn PWD to prepare estimate for construction of two speed breakers outside the school building to ensure that vehicular traffic moves under controlled speed limit.
