KATHUA, Jan 12: To sacrifice valuable life at a young age, for the sake of nation and its citizens, proves that those who gave birth to them are of great praise. It is the duty of every citizen to be with the families of the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for them.
This was stated by DCC Congress president and former MLC Subash Gupta said these words during the programme organised at village Ladoli to memorialize 15th Shaheedi Divas of Rifleman Mangal Singh.
Mangal Singh of 15 JAK RIF, got martyrdom on January 12, 2002 in Poonch sector while fighting with the enemies.
On the occasion, Subash Gupta, Dharm Singh father of Shaheed Mangal Singh, Kanta Devi mother of Shaheed Mangal Singh and other prominent offering paid tributes and garlanded the statue of Shaheed Mangal Singh.
Subash Gupta while paying tributes to the supreme sacrifices of the police, Army, and Para-military personals for the peace and integrity of the country said that the Dogras have made immense sacrifices. They had given their valuable lives to preserve the unity of the country by exhibiting tenacity, courage, and bravery during the difficult times.
He said that people hailing from Dogra belt of Kandi, Border and Hilly areas of Jammu division have rich tradition of serving in army and other para-military forces which reflect their courage, spirit of nationalism and love for the country. He appealed the people to remember the efforts of the brave soldiers with eternal gratitude. He said that martyrs are the real heros and we must remember their courage and acknowledge their sacrifice.
He also extended his gratitude with the bereaved family of Shaheed Mangal Singh and assured of every help.
J&K Ex Services Welfare Association district president Captain (retd) Gian Singh Pathania while addressing the gathering said that Dogra’s are real fighters and history of their valor is well versed in the history books.
“Society bears social responsibility to remember the sacrifices of the soldiers which will remain inspirational for the generation of coming times,” he said.
Capt (retd) Tara Chand, Capt (retd) Jatt Ram Sharma, Capt (retd) Suraj Singh, Capt (Retd) Balbir Singh, Ashok Kumar Senior Congress leader, Dalbir Singh Sethi, Swarn Singh, Sahib Singh, Chamail Singh, Kamal Singh, Capt Joginder Sharma, Praveen Bhagat, Lakhanpal, Madan Singh, Sukh Ram, and large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
