RAMBAN, Feb 16: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Mohammad Aijaz withheld the salary of 12 officers including 6 ZEOs for nil expenditure against the funds released for execution of civil works under SSA.
As per official spokesman, funds to the tune of Rs 382.92 lakh have been released during 2016-17 in favour of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ramban for execution of civil works under SSA.
“In the work-wise review meeting of SSA held today, it was observed that against the total amount released, zero expenditure has been recorded upto ending January 2017 and physical progress is also extremely dismal”, he added.
The spokesman informed that the CEO Ramban and entire staff of SSA was asked to give reasons for nil expenditure against the funds released, but no justified reasons came to fore from all concerned.
After getting all the briefings, DDC Ramban Mohammad Aijaz withhold the salary of ZEOs of Ramban, Banihal, Ukhral, Gool and Khari, AE, SSA Ramban and JEs SSA Ramban, Gool, Ukhral, Batote, Khari and Banihal.
Meanwhile, the CEO Ramban will explain his position in this regard within 5 days, the spokesman added.
