BARAMULLA, Aug 24: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla today visited fruit mandi Sopore where he held a meeting with the representatives of Fruit Growers Association, transporters representatives and concerned officers. The aim of the meeting was to address the grievances of the Fruit Traders Association.
The fruit traders while highlighting the issues confronting them, demanded adequate transport facility, besides end to unprecedented hike in transportation of fruit, so that fruit trade will not be affected. The fruit growers also demanded communication facility so that they can communicate with their counterparts in the rest of the country.
The fruit growers also sought immediate end to trade outside the fruit mandi Sopore.
While giving patient hearing to the demands of fruit growers, the Deputy Commissioner gave assurance to the representatives and said every step will be taken to resolve their problem.
The Deputy Commissioner directed for the establishment of control room which will be supervised by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore.
Later, Dr. G N Itoo also visited Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore to review the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients. He interacted with the patients and attendants and enquired about the same.
DC stressed for providing qualitative services to the patients and issued strict directions to the concerned authorities in this regard. DC emphasized for facilitating essential medicines in health institution so that patients may not suffer. People demanded round the clock operation facilities in the health institution so that patients from far flung areas could not face any inconvenience.
SSP Sopore, ADC Sopore, ARTO Sopore, AGMO, District Horticulture Officer, President Fruit Mandi Sopore, Transporters and other concerned were present on the occasion.
