RAMBAN, June 12: A meeting of the Revenue Officers of the district was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Shabir Ahmad Bhat.
The Revenue Officers informed DC, about progress of various developmental works going in the district.
They apprised DC that settlement work in 81 villages has been completed and ROR has been deposited in the record room. In 30 villages of Gool, settlement work in 12 villages is in full progress and remaining 18 are yet to be taken up.
They informed that of about ten thousand Roshni cases, 5000 cases have been disposed off and pending 5,000 cases, were set among the Revenue Officer on the monthly basis so that all the pending cases may be disposed off by the end of this year.
They said that the about 95 per cent of the relief has been disbursed amongst the drought hit farmers and the officers are directed to complete the pending disbursement within a weak time. With regard to the disbursement of the rental to the army lands, they said that in Banihal and Ramban tehsils, about 80 and 33 per cent of the amount have been disbursed.
DC directed Tehsildar Ramban to expedite the disbursement of the rentals among the owners and asked both the tehsildars to complete the disbursement by the end of June. He also directed Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) and tehsildars to closely monitor the progress of the Roshni cases on weekly basis so that the targets set may be achieved at the earliest.
During the meeting, the officers and staff were directed to complete the survey of identification of unauthorized encroaches of State land and Kachar land by the end of June and furnish complete list of encroaches along the particulars to DC so that the eviction proceedings will be initiated against them.
