LEH, Sept 7: To make the Poshan Maah more purposeful in Leh district, the Deputy Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC, Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya today reviewed the proposed activities of Prime Minister’s Outreach Programme “Poshan Abhiyan” in an officer’s meeting of Nodal Departments.
The meeting discussed in detail on the modalities for prompt implementation on each and every activities of the programme that included holding of Poshan Melas, Seminar and workshop on Poshan, penal discussion on Radio and TV, mass media campaigns, monitoring on Anemia, Diarrhea, management of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and immunization, provision of safe drinking water in AWCs and schools, programme to develop kitchen gardens in schools, awareness campaigns for adolescent girls, special programmes for students of college, health and nutrition camp, exposure visit to skilling centres for dropout adolescent girls, to mobilize resources like NYKS and Nation Service Scheme to include issues of adolescent boys for developing a holistic protocol to take forward the message of nutrition, holding of youth groups meetings etc.
Deputy Commissioner highlighting the significance of the programme for improvement of nutritional indicators of women and children of Leh district, urged upon the implementing nodal agencies to work out on innovative plans and put in resolute efforts to achieve the desired goals of this national programme. DC further directed to the concerned departments to keep him regular update on the implementation and progress of each programme of Poshan Maah.
