UDHAMPUR, Feb 13: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla reviewed the progress of work on International Yoga Centre coming up at Mantalai.
Project Manager, NPCC Ltd. K. R. Rana informed that the project has been entrusted by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India to NPCC Ltd. under Swadesh Darshan Scheme-PMDP in Sept 2016.
Accordingly, the work was taken up after land was handed over to NPCC Ltd. by Govt. of J&K in Nov 2017 and till date almost more than 80% of work has been completed and the project is expected to be handed over to the administration by July 2021.
He added that the main components of the project are Tourist Facilitation Centre, Yoga wellness spa & Ayurveda complex, dining centre, eco-log huts, meditation enclave, helipad, hanger, open air amphitheater, walking & jogging tracks, poly house, children activity Zone, parking, solar lighting, STP, WTP, landscaping & beautification etc.
The DDC asked the Project Manager, NPCC Ltd. to increase the men and machinery and expedite the ongoing work to ensure completion within given time frame. He advised the Project Manager to monitor the on daily basis and take regular review meetings for smooth and early completion of project.
