JAMMU, June 25: The Jammu district has achieved over 57 percent targets set for Annual Credit Plan of 2013-14.
Against a target of Rs 4520 crore, the banks have disbursed Rs 2591 crore loan assistance to the beneficiaries of various schemes.
The information was given at a meeting of District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) held under the chairmanship of Ajeet Kumar Sahu, District Development Commissioner, Jammu.
The meeting was convened to review the performance of banks with regard to achievement under Annual Credit Plan of 2013-14 and also to review the position of Deposits, Advances and CD Ratio.
Speaking at the meeting, Lead District Manager, informed that as on March 2014, the deposits in the district were Rs 22065.72 crore and advance Rs.7149.59 crore, while the C D. Ratio was recorded at 32.40%.
It was also revealed in the meeting that 142 Financial Literacy Camps were organized by the rural branches of banks in Jammu district during the year.
The DDC Jammu, who is also the chairman of the committee, emphasized on holding regular awareness camps regarding education loans offered by the banks.
Taking serious note of gap between amount sanctioned and actual disbursements made in KCC accounts, the DDC impressed for coordination between Agriculture Department and banks. He asked for organizing joint awareness camps for encouraging farmers to avail benefits of Kissan Credit Card Scheme and directed the Chief Agriculture Officer to utilize the services of Rehbar-e-Zerats (ReZ).
The DDC also nominated ADDC Jammu as nodal officer for ensuring coordination between banks and line departments for recovery of overdues in Government sponsored schemes.
While reviewing the progress under PMEGP scheme, the DDC directed the concerned officers of DIC, KVIB and KVIC to organize loan melas in colleges, especially polytechnic colleges to motivate the future professionals to avail the benefits of the self employment schemes.
The DDC also asked the bankers and officers of line departments to ensure that their respective offices are made polythene, tobacco and noise pollution free zones.
The Chairman stressed on setting targets for functionaries of Agriculture Department for sponsoring KCC applications so that 100% coverage of all eligible farmers can be achieved under KCC.
