RAMBAN, Aug 25: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohd Ilyas Khan, in the presence of BJP District President and former MLA Neelam Langeh, today flagged off the holy Chharri Mubarak Yatra from Shargali, Ramban to the sacred Manimahesh Lake in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh.
The religious pilgrimage, known as Manimahesh Charr Yatra, is an annual spiritual journey that has been a deep-rooted tradition for decades.
Led by Baba Devidass Ji Maharaj himself, the Yatra draws hundreds of devotees from across Ramban and neighbouring regions, all united in devotion and reverence.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mohd Ilyas Khan expressed pride in being part of this historic event.
“This Yatra is a shining example of communal harmony and spiritual commitment. Baba Devidass Ji Maharaj has been guiding this sacred journey for decades, continuing a legacy that binds people in faith and collective devotion,” said DC.
Former MLA Neelam Langeh, who also participated in the flagging-off ceremony, lauded the efforts of the Mahant and the local administration.
The holy mace, or Chharri Mubarak, will travel through traditional routes accompanied by chanting of hymns and devotional songs, culminating at the Manimahesh Lake, considered one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in Northern India.
Security and logistical arrangements have been put in place by the district administration to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
