JAMMU, Aug 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir general secretary and former Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria, inaugurated a free health check-up medical camp at Ward 55, Deep Nagar, Kunjwani, near here, today.
The camp organised by Jai Durga Amba Charitable Trust, aimed to provide free medical check-ups and health assistance to local residents. The medical camp featured participation from Dr. Sumit Gupta, Dr. Anjana Bhalwal, and other health workers who offered free health screenings including blood pressure, sugar tests, and general health consultations. Medicines were also distributed free of cost. Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria emphasized the importance of health, stating, “Health is the greatest wealth. Through this free health check-up camp, we strive to ensure better health services reach the local population.” He added that the initiative was especially beneficial for those who often miss regular medical check-ups due to financial constraints.
Billawaria highlighted the BJP’s commitment to uplifting all sections of society, especially the poor and underprivileged, in line with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision. “Our focus remains on comprehensive development which includes health, education, sanitation, and infrastructure,” he said. He also mentioned that several social and health-related programs have been conducted earlier by BJP to improve the living standards of people. Billawaria said that plans are underway to organise more health and social programs at the ward level to address community needs effectively.
Billawaria urged citizens to actively participate in Government schemes for a brighter future and reiterated BJP’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of the local community through such programs. Local residents of Kunjwani, Deep Nagar welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to access regular health check-ups.
Prominent attendees included Ranjit Singh, Rajinder Singh (Poppy), Sushpal Singh, Kulwant Singh, Charanjit Singh, Mahinder Singh and Darshan Singh.
