DC Ramban conducts public grievance redressal camp at Panchayat Doligam

RAMBAN, APRIL 22: In a significant outreach initiative aimed at strengthening grassroots governance, the Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today conducted a public grievance redressal camp at the remote village Geladh Hinjhal in Panchayat Doligam of Banihal block, resolving most of the public issues on the spot.

The camp witnessed active participation from locals, who appreciated the initiative of the Deputy Commissioner. Interacting directly with the people, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated that taking governance to the doorstep of citizens and ensuring timely redressal of their concerns remains a top priority of the District Administration.

During the public grievance redressal camp, villagers raised a range of issues concerning power supply, drinking water, road connectivity, construction of bridges, healthcare facilities, Anganwadi services, and other developmental needs. The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all grievances, resolving most issues instantly while directing concerned officers to address the remaining matters in a time-bound manner.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer to deploy a mobile veterinary team, headed by a doctor, once a week to provide treatment to livestock in the area. He also instructed the Executive Engineer JPDCL to complete metering in the area to ensure proper regulation of electricity billing. He stated that such measures are essential to improve service delivery, especially in far-flung and underserved areas.

Locals expressed gratitude to the district administration for reaching their doorstep and promptly addressing their issues, terming the initiative a major step towards responsive and people-centric governance.
