DC Rajouri seeks weekly reports on removal of encroachments

RAJOURI, Jan 22: The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today convened a joint meeting of the revenue and forest officers to take first hand appraisal of the working of the departments.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka, Surinder Mohan Shram, ASP, Liaqat Choudhary, DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh, DFO Nowshera, Suresh Panda, DFO Social Forestry, Rakesh Saraf, Wildlife Warden, Mushtaq Choudhary and all the Tehsildars.
During the meeting the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the functioning of the Panchayats Forest Right Committees and said that a number of complaints have been pouring in on a daily basis about the mismanagement during the constitution of the committees. The Deputy Commissioner directed the District Panchayat Officer to serve notice and republish the committees and seek the objection at the earliest, so that the confidence of the public can be restored.
He also directed that ADC/ SDMs should monitor the constitution of Forest Right Committees in their respective jurisdiction.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the Tehsildars and Revenue officers to remove illegal encroachments on the forest lands and submit a weekly report in this matter and the Tehsildars will expunge the illegal entries on Forest land, state lands and shamlats in their respective jurisdiction.
He also directed the Tehsildars to submit weekly reports about the anti-encroachment drives and the chunk of land retrieved. He also instructed them to carry out demolish drives where required for retrieval of the state/shamlat lands.
The Deputy Commissioner during the meeting said that the progress on the Ayushman Bharat is not up to mark and directed the Tehsildars to activate the Village level Committees for 100 percent Registration.
The Tehsildars were also instructed to convene a joint meeting of PRIs, BDOs, VLWS and patwaris for 100 percent registration of PMAY cases also.
The ADC Kotranka was directed to identify a suitable land for GDC Kotranka and submit the revenue papers within two days.
